The Exploratorium web site was recently selected by distinguished author James Lerman as one of the best Web sites for teachers on the Internet today. Mr. Lerman went through an exhaustive and rigorous process to select sites for his book 101 Best Web Sites for Secondary Teachers, published by the International Society for Technology in Education. The Exploratorium's Global Climate Change site received a Pirelli INTERNETional Award for environmental publishing. the site also won an Honorable mention in the database category at the prestigious MUSE Awards at the American Association of Museums conference. The Webby Award for Best Science Website in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2004 and for the Best Education Website in 2002.  We also received a Webby nomination for our "Science of Hockey" site for the Best Sports Site in 1998. bigchalk.com, The Education Network Best Award - March, 2001 The Exploratorium was chosen for "Best Science Museum" in Yahoo! Internet Life's "100 Best Sites for 2001" The Exploratorium's Web site was a finalist for the 1999 ComputerWorld Smithsonian Award in the category of Media, Arts, and Entertainment.  The Exploratorium is listed as a Britannica.com 5-Star Site   The Exploratorium's Science of Music site was awarded a MUSE Bronze Award in the Educational/Interpretive - Science category. The Exploratorium's Journey to Mars site was awarded the Griffith Observatory Star Award for the week of Dec. 28 - Jan. 3, 2004 for excellence in promoting astronomy to the public through the World Wide Web. The Exploratorium's Seeing and Origins: Belize-London sites were both jury-selected to be included in the Siggraph 2003 Web Graphics Expo. The Exploratorium is a Yahoo 4-Star Site  The Exploratorium's Science of Hockey site was also listed as a 4-star site in June of 1998. The Science of Hockey was also a Yahoo Pick of the Year 1997  We're also listed as "Best Science Museum"in Y Life's Top 100 for 2001.
